 Choi Young-wook is a contemporary artist who focuses on the traditional Korean ceramic, the moon jar. He continues to work to shed new light on its unique beauty by combining traditional Korean aesthetics with a modern sensibility.
 In particular, his moon jar painting <Karma> reinterprets traditional materials and techniques with a modern perspective, captivating the viewer's gaze.
 Born in Seoul in 1964, Choi Young-wook graduated from Hongik University's Department of Painting in 1991. When he went to New York to study art, he visited the Korean Gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
 The moon jar he encountered there resembled himself, yet gave off an impression of being detached and dignified, and became the main subject of his works.
 The moon jar is not a simple image; it contains countless stories and twists within the complex ceramic fiery patterns, and it possesses a generosity that embraces and comforts the harsh times and pain.
 In the work, 'karma' means 'action' or 'karma', and this is deeply connected to the message that Choi Young-wook wants to convey.
 The flow of emotions and thoughts that viewers feel through the work ultimately leaves a philosophical aftertaste that influences their lives.
 The author expressed his wish to live 'like a moon jar' and hoped that more people would enjoy a life as abundant as a moon jar.
